CADIVI - New Imports Ruling
Please click here http://www.traviesoevans.com/images/articulos/ar330/2010-06-30-394561-providencia-importaciones.pdf to access Administrative Ruling No. 104 which establishes the Requirements and Steps to obtain the Authorization for Purchase of Foreign Currency for Imports, issued by CADIVI and published in the Official Gazette of June 30, 2010. This ruling repeals the previous one, No. 098, published in the Official Gazette of August 28, 2009.

The most relevant changes of the new Administrative Ruling are:

1) The requirements for legal entities of the Public Sector registering with the RUSAD are established;
2) The Sistema Unitario de Compensación Regional de Pagos (SUCRE) is included as a system for processing imports; and
3) The obligation to notify CADIVI with sufficient anticipation of the name of the beneficiaries of importation for purposes of verification of the goods imported by CVG Internacional, C.A. or BARIVEN, S.A., under Contracts signed with the Instituto para el Desarrollo de la Pequeña y Mediana Industria (INAPYMI) and the associations or groups of small and medium industrial entities and cooperatives.

This ruling entered into effect on June 30, 2010.
